How didnt Southampton on 15:06 - Apr 2 with 965 views | Exiled2Surrey | Reminded me of Steph Mavididi at Portman Road - he seemed to be continually in space and also scored from about the same position as Leif. However, he is not a defender!

How didnt Southampton on 15:47 - Apr 2 with 810 views | Mookamoo | They have some good players, but they didn't seem to have any leaders. Nobody seemed to want to take responsibility for covering our left. Yes, it is down to poor in-game management from Martin, but you would hope someone on the pitch would do something. I can only assume they didn't consider the possibility Leif would be playing as an out-and-out winger first and the left back second. Maybe they did, and wanted to exploit the space behind him, which in fairness they did for 2 goals, but to fail to adjust once we got level seemed crazy. Harwood-Bellis is going to be a good player, but he is way off being able to dominate his back four and tell them where they need to be.

My feeling was it was deliberate, ie they knew Leif would bomb forward, so let him, and then exploit the space in our left back position. As you say it worked for both of their goals. I actually thought Martin's mistake was taking Armstrong & Aribo off when he did, but they really needed a win so maybe he went for it.

Thought Aribo was excellent. Glad he went off
