I was thinking to myself how I would feel if I was in Kieran's shoes ...
Yes, you now have an opportunity to jump into a better 'Footballing structure' but at a cost of trading everything known for the complete unknown ...
- A team and a system that he has fine-tuned to be a machine and know exactly what he wants (let's not forget that took a good 6/8 months to establish itself)
- A team that has amassed 194 points and 190 odd goals in two years
- A group of players that have given him absolutely everything
- A CEO and recruitment team that has just about nailed every signing for the past 4 windows
- An ownership structure that has shown huge ambition to grow and reward him when required
- Enough job security to last a long long time
I could go on ....
McKenna is a relationships man and he often talks about enjoying 'the journey' with the group as much as the destination itself. Well, I for one hope he thinks about that now as he looks at what he wants his journey to look like on his way to the top of the management tree.
It would certainly feel somewhat sour for us and more importantly the players/ staff whom he has those relationships with to say, 'I get all of that and thank you but I'm just going to jump ship now'.
Either way, he owes us nothing!

He also took on a bunch of out casts. Players bombed to u23s who would run through bricks for him. How many points won because of their passion to win points for each other and the manager.
Go to a club with highly paid individuals, a different culture and a completely different expectation level.
Our players weren't used to high level coaching so they admired his methods
