With that article dating back to 9th April, I suspect it was probably broadly agreed when we were a Championship outfit as he would be getting similar wages and he would almost certainly have the starting spot.

All that changed for both parties when we got promoted. I suspect he will be asking for more money with the additional caveat that the club are able to give fewer assurances around playing time.

I'm sure on the 9th April his agent and him realised that we could be getting promoted

20m or whatever is quoted in the press for a keeper with PL experience and who has played European football and international football is probably an entry level fee to consider for any club at the level we are about to experience.

Not arguing whether it is a far valuation or not but I just can't see us spending £20m on a keeper. Plenty of keepers we could pick up for a fraction of the price.
