Well lads, like all of you I have been sending myself crazy scouring twtd and rumour sites for any sign of our first signing, whilst fully in the knowledge that a lot of the rumour sites, along with talksport, being absolutely full of shi#.
I would be delighted if there is any truth in Jayden Oosterwolde though, i have seen a bit of him,he's tall, he's very fast, left footed centreback who can play left back as well, would be perfect foil for leif davis to cover the space when he pushes forward or even to play left back when needed. Think Herman but a little more cultured and a little less physical.

The news report seems to view him more as a left back. I doubt we'd be paying this sort of money for a Leif understudy however. However, if your impression of him is correct, maybe he's viewed (if there's truth in the rumour) as a left sided CB who could fill in as LB.

Or maybe we've had silly silly bids for Leif...

Looking at his video, he looks to play at left-back in the main.

My immediate thoughts would be this kind of signing at LB would only be because Leif would be going.

You don't spend this money on a back up, unless he is to become first choice LCB ahead of Burgess....who let's not forget is a full international and pretty god darn dominant in the air which we're going to need (don't see too many better than the titanium faced aussie)

I think that's a fair point re that sort of money, however, that figure may just have been someone's speculation. And if he covers two positions, then obviously that's an advantage. Or that valuation could put Town off. Or there's nothing in it at all, of course.

As you can probably guess from my username, I’m a part time Parma fan as well as a full time Ipswich fan so I watched a lot Ooster at the Ennio Tardini before he moved to Turkey (which, I can assure you, Parma fans were gutted about, which says a lot since he wasn’t there much longer than a year).

First off, he is absolutely a left-back rather than a centre half. Whilst he is big enough to play at centre half, he was often moved up to left wing when needed rather than into central defence.

The guy is a beast. Imagine a slightly smaller Tyrone Mings but rapid and extremely athletic. He’s also a very good dribbler. Needed more work on his final ball and crossing but he’s still young. His marking wasn’t amazing but his phenomenal tackling ability and pace often got him out of sticky situations.

I’m not sure where he’d fit in a team with Davis in it though. I expect just to provide Leif some competition.
