Personally I'm not sure there is much between the two main parties at the moment and this is worrying. We need and deserve some positive change. I really hope we see it.

The Tories set an incredibly low bar on this front, if Labour don't do better then they'll deserve to get dumped in a similar manner. Gas lighting dishonesty from our politicians has to be dumped and honest/difficult messaging must be the way forward. They can start with clear explanations of the falling birth rate, the economic need for migration and resolve to stop the appalling narrative that immigration is a bad thing.

I agree with that totally. The tories in 14 years operated on the basis of favourites and toadies. It’s meant competent people have been shunned in favour of the oilys and those that question nothing and offer nothing but sycophantic support however disgusting and useless their leader is. They’ve got what they deserved. I doubt they’ll change. I suspect they’ll move further to the right and cling to the fantasy that the plebs are misguided and it’s always somebody else’s fault. I doubt there will be a Tory government in my lifetime and given who they represent that’s no bad thing. The high turnover of MPs is a good thing. It’s an opportunity to reset standards in public life. MPs are there to represent their constituents. They are not there to line their own pockets and pursue their own sorry agendas. Will Starmer be strong enough to set the tone? Time will tell. I doubt it but that’s not fair - he needs to be given the opportunity. Lastly, I’m pleased to see the SNP get a kick in the teeth. Hopefully that warning will help reset standards in competency and integrity in that country too and focus on improving lives and opportunities for ordinary people.
