If definitely favours the day trippers who just did the Huddersfield game over those that went more frequently.

Membership Priority on 12:54 - Jul 16 by havinit69 | I've never had a season ticket, but I have attended a minimum of 10-15 home games a season for the last 25 years and usually 4-5 away games. Not to have a season ticket was my choice so I that's on me and is my own fault for not realising sooner that this might happen should one day we make the Premier League. I'd love to attend more away games but I am firmly in the camp that loyalty should be rewarded, that's why I've never complained about not getting away tickets to more local/attractive away fixtures. But loyalty for attending home games should be rewarded as well. Fortunately, I am old enough to remember the Burley Premier League years but I am more annoyed that (the last 2 years aside), my lad has had to watch McCarthy/Hurst and Lambert ball and may miss out on watching the best players in the world. There's a points priority for away, perhaps they should have considered doing one for home games. |
Do we know how many memberships were sold? Based on the total number of away tickets over the season and fans that attended multiple games, I can't imagine it was more that 6k or so and probably less. Of those that were sold, there will then be a significant number that went to season ticket holders who already have their own seats. Then it's just maths: Portman road holds 29.5k Season tickets 21k Away allocation 3k General sale 5.5k Members that bought a home ticket but don't have season tickets a generous 3k I would expect that anyone falling into that bracket will be able to get a ticket to pretty much every game they want. That probably applies to members overall too, at least until word gets around, although a family of 4 will probably think twice about £140 in memberships just to attend a couple of games...

I think you may be surprised with the number of non-season ticket holder members from last year. The Huddersfield game sold out prior to going to general sale, think it may have been at Members + 3 home games attended. My guess would be at least 7500 non-season ticket members, probably a bit higher.

I'd go with a bit higher too. My very rough numbers from memory of the ticket site for Huddersfield: 6000 tickets available. 5800 sold to non-ST members with purchase history for 5+ home league games in 23/24. 200 sold out in seconds to members in the 2+ group, with most missing out.

I was unaware of that. It's still a one off game though, most of those 7.5k won't be going for every game, big games will get more interest, but even then there's a demand difference between the promotion celebration and a season where the target is 17th. I hope there is at least...
