Just realised Szmodics was born on 24/09/1995 - a day after Ipswich lost 5-1 to Charlton, from memory Neil Gregory replaced Craig Forrest in goal after Forrest was red carded and we only had 3 subs at that time

12 months earlier 24/09/1994 Ipswich beat Man Utd 3-2

Crikey I feel so old reading these stats!!!

Craig Forrest went off injured in that match although Tony Vaughan got a red card.

The following season Gregory replaced Richard Wright following a back injury and we lost 3-1 at home to Huddersfield. Marcus Stewart scored one in that match.

1984 is closer to the end of WW2 than it is to the present day. That makes those of a certain age feel old.

I always remember this game.
Everyone around me said don't worry, Gregory is really good in goal. Lol.
I remember getting up and shouting ""f off charlton" and the whole north stand joined in. 20 year old me was so proud lol

My dad crashed the car on the way to that Charlton game. Nothing major, but annoying just the same. Not a good day, all things considered.

I remember that game. Leaburn was an absolute hitsouse that day, and it was one of the few times I left PR early, missed seeing his penalty, so I won.
