Is there any particular reason why it seems to be so analysis heavy and action poor?
So much awesome stuff going on in the stadium post-Heptathlon (according to the crowd noise, at least) but it was eschewed for a drawn-out analysis of the heptathlon and former heptathlon medalists.
Is it an editorial decision? Or does the involvement of Discovery really limit what the BBC is allowed to show these days? |  |

"Just in case" what? The climbing was brilliant no matter what the competitor's nationality - you're simply proving the 'chauvinism' criticism that another poster mentioned. |
I would call it realism when we’re restricted in the number of hours we can show and the number of concurrent sports. Just because you found it interesting doesn’t mean you are representative of the whole viewership. | | | |

Thank heavens for the Discovery+ app. It’s allowed me to totally avoid BBC & focus on stuff that’s often just in the background, like the Pole Vault, Long Jump, Javelin, etc. Also provided full uninterrupted coverage of the Olympic Golf, Tennis, & Cycling events last week which was a fantastic watch. Very little claptrap & lots of action. How refreshing all round. |  | | |
