Presumably this then for Liverpool 13:57 - Aug 14 with 4601 viewsgordon

Muric
Johnson Tuanzebe/Woolfenden Greaves Davis
Morsy Luongo
Burns Chaplin Hutchinson
Delap

Al-Hamadi, Taylor, Harness, Clarke, Humphreys, Edmundson and the other CB options from the bench.

Suprised we didn't prioritise getting in at least one new DM before the start of the season.

Curious as to why no one has Burgess in their teams as the central CB with 5 at the back?

Would have thought his strength in the air would have been useful against Nunez and Liverpool's set piece quality.

Is the feeling Woolfie offers more composure with us still playing out from the back?

Yes, that's my thought. Love Burgess and wouldn't have any concerns if he plays, but Woolfy on the ball in a three gives an additional passing angle and helps us to bait Liverpool's press. Not that it will need much baiting I guess, but I could see Woolfy stepping forward a little and Axel/Muric/Greaves having both Morsy and Woolfy to find beyond their striker possibly - three passers to two receivers gives a lot of angles to block.

I’m amazed how many people think we go 5 at the back when we’ve never ever done it under McKenna, we’ll play the same hybrid formation as we’ve done every week for 2 seasons - and when they line up with 5 across the front line Burns will drop into help out like always has when teams have done that

Spot on. Johnson was playing the Burns position on Saturday. I’d be shocked if he was picked in that position Saturday. Burns starts for me all day long. I would agree with the op line up and my guess is Wolfe starts with Axel on the bench.
