A narrow 4-2-3-1 seems the best formation. 23:55 - Aug 15 with 1511 viewsMercian

Szmods and Hutch are better suited playing as wide attacking midfielders than as true wide men. Kalvin can play centre half and can drop back to form a back 3 when needed. I don't know much about Johnson, what is he like going forward?

McKenna has shown that he is prepared to change the system & swap out players depending on the opposition, so despite our preferred formation being a 4-2-3-1, I can see us playing variations even moreso this season.
I think we could see Hutchinson & Szmodics starting as a pair of #10's, behind Delap, for the Liverpool & City games, in order to allow for an extra body in midfield (Taylor or even Phillips if he has the fitness), or possibly for us to go with 3 at the back. It wouldn't surprise me if Edmundson was brought in to help deal with the pace & powerful running of the Liverpool front players.

"Edmundson brought in to help deal with the pace & powerful running of the Liverpool front players."

I know what you mean but my god that sounds terrifying!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I was thinking of 3 at the back, Tuanzebe, Woolfy and Greaves. Johnson/clarke and Leif either side. Morsey and Taylor in the middle with Chaplain, Hutch and Delap up top.
