Very good player in his day, but injury and poor form has dropped his levels. I think Delap will run him ragged and al hamadi too as a game finisher.

I’d love you to be right but think you’re in for a shock. I agree he isn’t the player he was 3-4 years ago but the gulf between what we’ve been used to watching and what we’ll see this season is huge. |  |

Are you basing this on his 22/23 season? He made some high-profile mistakes that year. Last season he was the best in the league, or close to, when it came to duels, aerial duels and being dribbled past. On bread-and-butter defence he was very solid in 23/24. Not as fast as he was but he used to be rapid.
