First off, want to say that I'm delighted with the result today and on another day we could've had 3 points there. Weathered some good Fulham moves and thought overall we were the better side.
Muric, however, I'm yet to be convinced. I'm hopeful he can prove me wrong as he's made some good stops, but I can't be the only one finding it slightly surprising, considering we want to play and build from the back, that we've spent 8 million on a goalkeeper that appears to be COMPLETELY one-footed? |  | | |  |

His confidence looks shot after last week, looks like a different keeper to the one who was playing in preseason. Was a little frustrating watching his kicks go out of play in the second half, but in fairness, he didn't take any risks like he did last week and so he is learning. I think he will prove to be an excellent addition but may take him a game or two to build up his confidence. |  | | |

Muric is still finding his way here. He is big, agile and has a real presence about him. He didn’t do much wrong today and with time and a little support he will be a real asset.
He is a better keeper than Hladky in my view and given how KM wants us to play I like to think he will fit the bill. |  | | |

I doubt there is.
The huge drop in quality when he came on was painful. Couple of balls into him that didn’t get controlled or use well, gave it away cheaply, didn’t control it and take it on (a really decent chance) then predictably got booked chasing the defender down (not even a smart or tactical foul, just clumsy and stupid)
Him coming on, for me, is a complete waste of time. If he gets 1 premier league goal I’ll be gobsmacked
All that said, when he comes on I’ll cheer him on like I do any town player [Post edited 31 Aug 2024 20:21]

The word you are looking for is, raw. Will never be a world class player but has a run about terrier role in the team. We did not get the player we wanted for up front so we are going to have make do with what we have.
As for Muric, his teammates will adjust to his weaknesses once the play together for a while. I personally prefer a more dominating goalkeeper to any kicking ability. This part of his game can be improved by coaching.
Look at Leif's weakness in defending for instance and we regard him as one of our best players.
Kieran will build the squad into a team and the only concern I have is that we can keep ahead of the posse

Muric does concern me - even the save he made in the second half appeared to go through his hands and hit him in the face before he safely gathered the ball. I would expect better from a Premier League keeper TBH. His kicking generally wasn't great and was either inaccurate or just long. Hopefully he will improve. [Post edited 1 Sep 2024 9:59]
