Let kane play tonight then call it a day internationally for him? 17:48 - Sep 10 with 6889 views | FrimleyBlue | 100 games. Nice to chalk it off. But I still feel we will be more of a threat now without him rather than with.

Let kane play tonight then call it a day internationally for him? on 13:54 - Sep 11 by FrimleyBlue | What is it you're after exactly, my opinions that were lolled at but i was right? " Freddie ladapo would be an ideal KM signing" " I can see us bringing in dane scarlett" ( Although wish we hadn't bothered lol ) " Kalvin Phillips on loan would be ideal for us" I've got plenty, PLENTY wrong, but that's life, and you should know by now, Im happy to share my views either way, but I do so to have a discussion about things regardless of how I know my view isn't going to be popular, it's just the way I am and happy to be this way. I have other 'right' examples too, but honestly i can't be bothered to list them all, but im also honest enough to say i get alot of things wrong. probably 90% 99% of the time. |
I mean, fair play for your candour but if you admit you’re wrong about things “probably 90% 99% of the time” it can’t really come as much surprise when people find your opinions a little strange. Piping up with exaggerated statements from the extreme ends of a sliding scale is one way to set off discussion (given that it’s usually the MO of a troll), but it doesn’t make you some misunderstoood master debater, it just might mean that saying Haaland’s a rubbish footballer and Kane should be retired from the England team make you come off as someone who isn’t interested in balanced viewpoints.

Again the haaland piece as you've mentioned it again, was about his limited ability away from being the goal scorer that he is, which i made clear in that post, very clear, and an opinion shared by many pundits, the problem is as clear here, you've taken the rubbish part and ignored the rest. same with kane, he's a goal scorer, he was more than that too, that part of him however i feel he's no longer great at and it hurts us more than helps ( the dropping deep but to slow to then get forward) etc etc

I’m increasingly conscious that neither of us are likely to get anything out of this, but I bring up the Haaland example because it sums the approach up nearly. You realise that saying Haaland has “limited ability away from being the goal scorer that he is” and calling a player who scores a goal every 1.2 games he plays “actually quite rubbish” aren’t compatible right? If you think the first, the second isn’t logical. If you think the first but say the second to be sensationalist, fair enough, but you’re being human clickbait. And nobody likes clickbait.

Of course it's logical if you wish to see it for what it is rather than purposely ignoring what was being said. He's a natural goal scorer. He knows where the gaps are. Gets into them. Knows how to hit and place a ball for that he's a great goal scorer. The best. But when you watch him as anything other than a predator in the box as said in the orignal post he's extremely limited. Personally It's no different to when you see people raving about a fast exciting wingers with 0 end product. He's know as having a rubbish end product despite having other talents. Same for haaland in this. He's excellent at finishing but rubbish in other aspects. ( again. Not alone in this opinion as has been discussed by pundits across various platforms and on TV at times too. ( but of course rightfully gushing over his actual goal scoring record which is ridiculous. Hope that helps.

It doesn't, but I don't think it's me that needs it, so I'll chalk this up to the "90% 99%" and bow out there. Have an absolutely amazing night and I hope it's not absolutely terrible, those being the only two available options.
