Ballot question 13:05 - Sep 18 with 1621 viewsSamWhiteUK

So I've been successful in the Everton ballot (huzzah!)

I went in for two tickets, one assigned to my brother, and one to me.

What happens if he'd entered the ballot as well? Do the entries get merged? Am I hurting his chances of getting a ticket by entering on his behalf (eg if his entry is ignored, and then mine doesn't get pulled) or am I increasing his chances, or neither?

I also have been successful - first time this season.

When I've entered the ballot, you have to assign the places to friends/family. The ticketing website says one entry per person, even if there are multiple applications. It seems that each successful person receives an email (not just the applicant).

So I guess it neither harms nor increases his chances. But I'd guess, if you've already applied for a ticket for him, he wouldn't be able to. I just applied for the West Ham ballot, and now that I've done that, it won't let me apply again unless I allocate the application to a different family member.

So am I correct in assuming that I've got the two tickets that I've applied for? I'd imagine that's how it works but I'm not sure if he's received an email or not.

I'm trying to wrap my head around whether I'm doing more harm than good, really. If I'm entering for both of us, and he can't then enter, then either we're both going, or we're both not. Whereas if we enter separately, there are more possibilities - we both go, only he goes, only I go, or neither of us.

Perhaps I'm overthinking this...

[EDIT]

I've just found the FAQ. I do have both tickets, which is good. However, it is either a group or individual, so if you just want to get there and the group isn't a worry, you should enter individually. You can then buy tickets for others who are successful.

Yeah, I think just the case of if it's a group application, you all win or none win, but the benefit is you get to sit together.

If it's individual, then some might win and some might not.

But it sounds like they weight the probability of winning so each person still has the same chance whatever.

I'm one from four in the ballot this season. Got Liverpool and then nothing, but have so far got tickets for both Fulham and Villa in the main sale window on the Monday morning subsequently.

Well done on the main sale window. No luck for me so far.
For Villa I think the queue wasn't working properly and some logged in at 10am essentially jumped the q and got sorted. Those in the q were loft with scraps that always seemed unavailable despite clicking on the seat. Very frustrating.
