That's the sort of talent we need to find isn't it.

Wasn't a big name. But what a player he is.

Jan window gonna be tough but I think if we can get into the foreign market it might be our best chance of getting some real quality for good money who may be keen to at least get half a season first of all in the prem shop window.

Great player and an absolute steal at 3m. Those type of buys are very hard to find though.

Honourable mention to Axel who kept him very quiet in our match and cost nothing.

I really like him. He's not just quick with his feet but he loves trying defence splitting passes and really drills some into the box. He's missed wellbeck in this game tho.

Axel is a gutting blow. As you say he dealt with him really well.

I would love to see a few 'Mitomas' coming in. I know KM Is very specific about language barriers etc ( I'm saying that but I don't even know if mitoma doesn't speak English anyway lol ) but just a few from abroad that have the talent but need to be given the chance to showcase it in the best league in the world.

They bought him, and then loaned him out for a year to develop.

Good strategic type signing, but would have been no immediate use to us this summer.

A few years in the prem allows you the time, scouting network and budget for such a strategy.

Brighton have a recruitment system worlds away from us (and most clubs) in terms of sophistication.

And as MM notes below your post, they recruit players into the club before they need them in the first team to bed them into their ecosystem. Their succession planning throughout the club is brilliant. I rather expect they already know who the next kitman will be.

They might come unstuck at some point as Southampton did before them, but they’re currently the model. You really can’t expect us to find ‘a few mitomas’ just like that.

Very true.

I guess its kinda what we've done with mendel and the Palace and villa lad. Be interesting to see how they get on.
