Surely tho it depends on how you spend the money
At the moment. I'm guessing fees here so forgive me.
Clarke. 20 mill. Barely plays
Greaves 14 mill. Barely plays
Muric 10 mill. Jury's out
Hutchinson 20 mill.. worth while not used correctly
Delap.. worth it but not good enough to be vocal point of a relegation favourite side. Hes a developing lad
Cajuste. Worth it
Phillips loan.. jury's out. Benched not fit but is fit but not fit
Oshea 15 mill jury's out to many of twtd

That was always going to be the case though. We were never going to be able to sign established PL players or even established players from the top European leagues that were going to be guaranteed to hit the ground running. That is just where we are right now.
Teams like Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton have the squad depth and ability to spend £20m on a Lewis Potter, Semenyo or Mitoma and let them settle in for a season. We can't, we need immediate impact.
We are really relying on two kids (Delap/Hutchinson) who have never played PL football before to spearhead our attempt at staying up. I suspect most of our signings will prove to be good in the long run but this season could come too soon for some of them. |  |
