Is McKenna almost worried of giving chances to fringe players? 19:40 - Dec 21 with 1038 views | TresBonne | To be honest, I don’t think Ali’s much good, and nor do I think he was the answer today by a long shot. We were poor all over and beaten by a much better side, no debate. But on the other hand, I would be a bit peed off if I was the only fit/available out and out striker at the club and I get left on the bench from the off in favour of an attacking midfielder shoehorned in. Same thing with Walton. I think he can have grounds to be a little peed off, especially considering he came in v Liverpool and didn’t put a foot wrong, yet can’t seem to get a look in when the keeper drops howler after howler of brain dead moments. Broadhead another one in that category, I think it was obvious he was already a bit frustrated considering his mum was posting on Twitter that he wasn’t injured when he wasn’t making the squad at all. Woolfenden another one maybe? I’m still yet to see a great deal from O’Shea that makes me think he was worth the fifteen million for an upgrade. To me it poses the question about McKenna’s belief in some of the fringe players. I know he talks a good game about trusting the squad etc, but actions speak louder than words, and I can see a few of them being a bit annoyed soon enough if this continues to happen. It’s almost a bit sad for those lads - especially considering it was clear McKenna wanted to go with Greaves this season, but Burgess has come in through a stroke of luck really and staked a claim for being one of the first names on the team sheet. I think it’s safe to say that if Greaves was fit he would be in ahead of Burgess who has had some good games but is not the better player, same with Woolfenden. Broadhead is being managed back having had multiple injuries, as are others. The last thing we need is to rush some of these guys back and then lose them for longer. As for the Muric vs Walton debate, I’m not convinced that either are ideal, but I’d go with the one who has played most first team and international football. He’s saved us more points than he has cost us. Finally, AAH is simply not good enough for PL football currently and if we had landed another striker in August would already be out on loan. I doubt he is disappointed at the situation, actually I think he is probably elated he is getting any PL playing time.

Hamadi still has a groin issue (very disappointing given that he had an operation in the summer - see Panutche Camara) so I think his game time is being managed carefully. If he can't ever play 70 minutes, what was the point of signing him? You also would struggle to loan out a crock.
