Morsy's place still guaranteed? 22:11 - Jan 5 with 3546 viewsLancsBlue

Not particularly referencing his giving away of the first penalty at Fulham, but has there been signs of a drop off? He's guaranteed legendary status and has been our most important and effective player in both our promotions. However, he is 33 and although he keeps very fit, how much longer can continue to be our midfield dynamo? When 100% fit are we moving towards a Cajuste/Phillips partnership? or maybe a new January or summer signing coming in. It was noticeable that McKenna's eulogy to him last week was largely in the past tense. Was he paving the way for Morsy to become more of a squad player and no longer the first name on the teamsheet? I'm not convinced that he will continue to start every match for the rest of the season.

It's literally nonsense. He just kicks him in the knee for no reason. He's not close enough to the ball, there's two defenders right in front of the attacker, and he's going nowhere. Morsy just rocks up and takes a swipe for no reason. He should know better.

Totally, and nowhere have I disagreed with that.

I'd drop him for that penalty give away alone. Honestly, what is a pro of his level doing in the moment? One of the worst penalties I've ever seen a team give away.

Anyway, I've been saying for weeks we need to get Phillips in and I don't think much has changed. It feels like his range of passing is the final piece of the puzzle so I hope we see it soon.

Ha, ha, ha!!

Fair, I just actually can't think of many worse penalties given away.

I'm not just talking about Morsy or anyone in particular but it's obvious that we whilst competing to a relative standard are not any better than any of the bottom six clubs. This brings in to question every player and position in the squad and as to whether a)They are good enough and b) That there's adequate cover and on both counts we have to say that in several positions within the squad we just are short of being good enough in several positions. We can't have passengers no matter what are allegiance is to any player or however good they have been for us in the past. Freddie Ladapo come to mind. Without his goals in Division One would we have been promoted ? Freddie has gone and good luck to him, just the same as many heroes of the past.
