Famous Town Uses Of The Same Script 15:01 - Jan 8 with 1025 viewsAsa

Seeing that Hirst goal again at Barnsley, where we scored two goals in a minute to go 2-0 up at Oakwell in a massive promotion clash reminded me of 2000 when we ... well ... scored two goals in a minute at Oakwell to go 2-0 up at Oakwell in a massive promotion clash.

So what other Town moments have happened in spookily similar circumstances?

A near 100 goal and 100 point promotion in what proved to be a relentless three horse race with near record points tallies for one.

A vital last gasp goal against Southampton is a bit tenuous but could just about count, albeit similar circumstances.

A 1-0 cup win over the Arsenal in a match we were billed as underdogs?

Marlon Harewood missing a sitter the week after missing a sitter?

Unremarkable and otherwise forgettable attacking player on a short term deal scores a last minute winner away at a London club for which they will be remembered forevermore…

Suffering 3-4 defeats in consecutive weeks after leading. 1985-86.

Letting two two goal leads slip in the same match against Charlton. 1990 and 2022.

Substitute goalkeeper being used in final match of the season 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Two matches abandoned at Maine Road due to waterlogged pitch. 1994 and 2000. One was a cup tie though I think.

Poll: Favourite Norwich Relegation?

4-4 draws with Charlton Athletic. Very rare result and we've had two against the same team.

Also had a weird record at one stage of 7 playoff appearances being Sheffield United, Charlton twice, Bolton twice and West Ham twice, before we added Norwich to the list.
