Yeah, looks terrible. The orange tvvat has been trying to politically benefit off people’s misfortune and misery by blaming the Democrat governor. He really is a despicable excuse for a person.
I’ve heard a bit of frustration around the fire department saying they can’t control some of the fires. I’m not sure what they’re supposed to do. These guys and gals are some of the most experienced in the world at dealing with wildfires. If they’re being overwhelmed by the scale of it I doubt anyone could do better. |  |

Theyre actually recruiting and training prisoners (and incarcerated firefighters) to help with personnel numbers.

There are multiple reports of people starting new fires too, which is less than helpful.
Fire service have struggled to get the normal air tankers up as the wind was gusting at 100mph and they didn't really need a plane crashing into the hills to add to the mess. |  | | |

LA will have a massive rebuild. They also host some games for the 2026 World Cup and then host the 2028 Olympics. I feel so sad for the non celebrities because I feel the celebs will monopolize the builders to get their home in the sun rebuilt. I can’t get my head around that. You see the damage and destruction and then deliberately start another one? Scum isn’t a strong enough word. I heard one person had been arrested on suspicion of arson. If he’s (90% likely it will be a bloke) I hope they throw the book at him. | |
