Clarke H - well mooted in the press, plenty of cover in the position, not going to get minutes
AAH - if we sign a 9 (which we absolutely must) he will have to go on loan/perm, for his own sake if nothing else
Edmundson - done deal already, isn' it?
Luongo/Taylor - sign a CM we are after and one will be going, probably Luongo
Might:
Woolfenden/Burgess - with everybody else fit, can't see either of these starting a game, will need a back up, but can we afford to take up all those squad places? If we manage to sign the attacking players we're after, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us switch back to McK's favoured shape and the 2 CB's, making at least one of these guys surplus to requirements, the only reason I don't have this in "probably" is due to the ? over our ability to sign the attacking players we are after.
Wes Burns - controversial one, but can't see him getting a game if we manage to get Doak/A.N.Other on board, especially if we revert to McK preferred style, as mentioned above
We have a finite squad capacity and we have to recover some money and get wages off the books and if we are able to upgrade as we go, as we have done under McK so far, then this is the obvious batch to go IMO.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Harry Clarke and maybe Luongo go, alongside AAH.
Thats three spaces to cover the two in and a striker. If we bring in anyone else, which isnt guaranteed, we could also reregister Ogbene. If it's Doak, we dont need to because hes U21. I still think Mass could/should stay, else we only have four CM for two roles.
One thing that also coukd happen is Slicker go out on loan and we promote an U21 keeper to be third choice so we can bring in another outfield player into the 25.
I doubt anyone else goes, we need strong cover in all positions. [Post edited 16 Jan 16:13]

That would be lovely to see them in, but McAtee has bundles of interest from Germany by the sounds of it.
Aside from the players injured and on loan already, I don't see how we can make any plans without recruiting first, which will give us very little time to act. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a deadline day flurry in AND out tbh. | | | |

In terms of outgoings this window is really tricky.
Obviously we can only have a 25 man squad (plus U21s) but we also need to consider the possibility of relegation.
If we find ourselves in the CS, Harry Clarke, Woolfy, Burgess, Taylor and Burns could be really important players. Godfrey, Cajuste and Phillips would leave, along with Axel, Davis, Hutch and Delap. Morsy will also be 34 next season.

Yep, we are after a CM. I’m not sure Taylor offers enough for Prem, that’s most likely reflected in the minutes he has played this season, despite an injury crisis in that area of the pitch. | | | |
