I've been saying midfield is our weakest link, but I noticed something in mitigation today. When you play a low block and are out of possession, your midfielders are sitting just in front of, or alongside your defenders and they don't have any opportunity to battle against opposition midfielders who have a free pass to ping it out wide.
It's going to be in matches where we don't play a low block (the majority) where they are going to need to improve or we need to strengthen. [Post edited 25 Jan 17:13]

I think we have to change tactics.

The midfield is a difficult one to resolve. I’ve seen several posters saying we should play an extra man in there, but as we normally match up the opposition that would leave us short somewhere else on the pitch. It should be fluid anyway. Maybe we just need to tweak things and I’m sure KM knows what’s needed. |  |
