How will our investors react if we go down? 09:46 - Jan 26 with 4305 viewsshamboy

Any insights? MA will have a strong contingency plan, that's for sure, but are the investors aligned with it?

As long as they don't issue a strategic plan full of meaningless platitudes as per Evans.

Probably ditch mckenna. Unless a Club comes in for him ...Owners may see a different manager bringing in more foreign players with more flair and a bigger type of player... look at Bournemouth...

Except that, from what I read at the time, ORG didn't sell their shares to Bright Path. They issued new shares, diluting existing investors' holdings (including their own), in order to sell that proportion of the club to BP.

That would, however, imply that their remaining shares are worth at least £130m, so perhaps three times what they are said to have originally paid (not counting further injections).

I remember there was a share issuance at some point, but from memory that was due to an investment from ORG and had to be put into the club via shares to avoid FFP/PSR (whatever iteration we had at the time). If there was any crossover with the Bright Path money, I’d imagine that would have been discussed and resolved at the time and reflected in the shares allotted to them. I know that ORG definitely saw their share holdings reduce to 50%, so the £105 million from Bright Path had to be the share purchase of 40% from ORG.

No, it's a dilution. The club creates x-thousand new shares (in addition to those which already exist), whatever new total would allow them to sell 40% to Bright Path.

ORG has not sold its shares to anyone but, like the PLC shareholders and Evans, theirs are now worth somewhat less each than they were before that happened - but still several times more than when originally issued during the takeover in 2021. They haven't had to stump up any more cash themselves and future commitments will be shared.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
