If someone buys a ticket in the normal 'member-sales', then subsequently sends it back, I think they become available for someone else to purchase immediately.
If a season ticket holder contacts the ticket office to say they want to re-sell their seat, those seats aren't 'released' until a specific date and time. Ticket office told me they do that so it gives season ticket holders an opportunity to change their mind about re-selling.
But once the season-ticket release date has passed, there's no longer a cooling-off period for season ticket holders, once they advise the club they want to re-sell it gets made available for purchase immediately (and any other 'normal' returns continue to be made available immediately too). |  | | |
