16 years ago we signed Civelli on 10:19 - Jan 28 with 1548 views | SaffronWaldenBlues | A signing that many people still hold on to. Still went on to play 100-odd games elsewhere and only finished up in 2017.

16 years ago we signed Civelli on 10:33 - Jan 28 with 1450 views | iamipswich | I remember a little flick he did at QPR away and you could just tell he had something the rest of our team didn't. A great shame his Town career was struck by such misfortune.

16 years ago we signed Civelli on 15:25 - Jan 28 with 883 views | HighgateBlue | He did look promising. Such a shame his Town career was cut short. The issue that he makes me think of at this particular time is overseas scouting and recruitment. It seems odd that fully 16 years ago, when we were in a lower division, under an owner who is much maligned, we were able to scout players such as Civelli from halfway across the world, whereas now we seemingly cannot. We have a much bigger budget now, we have competent management, we have a great coach, we are a bigger draw, and yet we only recruit in very parochial circles. When we sign exciting South Americans, it is to improve promising players for mighty Brighton. In a digital age, this seems odd to say the least. How many promising Brazilians or Argentinians could you recruit for the price of a Jack Clarke?

Did we scout him or did we get sent his info? Our decline under ME was by a thousand cuts over a long time, so it's possible that 16 years we may still have had a few 'scouts' abroad.

Hmm..I'm sure we were given Civelli by a friendly agent. There are some good ones.

Charlie Woods was heavily involved and persuaded Marcus to buy him.
