I think I read somewhere that you can only loan out 6 players.. not sure if that is correct, but was in an article about Kyle Walker, being Man City’s 6th and final loan.

Are we now up to 5 loans out.

Clarke
Harness
Al Hamadi
Baggott
Humphreys

Does that leave us with one more we can loan out, as Edmundson is now a permanent?

I also read the same and must admit didn't know it was a rule. Found this on give me sport website:

They have continued to change in recent years, with FIFA announcing in January 2022 that by July 2024, the number of players allowed to be loaned out and loaned in will be reduced from eight to six. During the 2023/24 season, clubs were allowed seven loan players in and seven loaned out.

Club-trained players or players aged 21 or younger are exempt from rules, therefore Baggott and Humphreys would be exempt as they have come through the yoof setup.

Thanks, I did wonder about the young lads we had loaned out to non-league teams.

I guess that rule helps the big academies to loan out and hoover up talent though.

Would Clarke be exempt too, as he came through the Town academy before going to Arsenal?

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?

It was designed to stop clubs like Chelsea buy tens of players and then loan them back out, while not restricting development of youth and U21 players through experience at other clubs.
