Copernicus Climate Data - January 2025 was the hottest ever 08:02 - Feb 7 with 1002 viewsStokieBlue

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/feb/06/hottest-january-on-record-cl

"January marked the 18th month of the past 19 to record global-average surface temperatures above the 1.5C preindustrial level."

This is a real worry as the warming El Niño peaked in January 2024 and scientists expected it to be cooler from then under the La Niña weather pattern but it's remained hot and record setting.

Its all just a big big hoax. Its the biggest hoax in the world. But the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, and climate change is not real. People from Mexico. They're bringing drugs. They're bring crime. They're rapists... And some, I assume, are good people.

I think I'm right in saying that that absolutely breathtaking jump in spring 2023 (which is reflected in sea surface temperatures) is pretty much accepted now as being mostly down to the removal of aerosol-creating sulphur from shipping fuel. Those aerosols were reflecting energy back into space before it could be absorbed to heat the planet. Warmer sea surface temperatures are likely to reduce cloud cover even more in a nasty little feedback effect.

Maybe we need a bit of rapid and un-calibrated, counter-intuitive geo-engineering to get some air pollution back into the skies. A nuke strike, maybe? A fortuitous super volcano?

Trouble is the signs of AMOC collapse are getting stronger too, so perhaps the UK needs a massive hike in global temperature in order to counteract the 5 or 6 degrees we're going to lose soon when the North Atlantic conveyor belt shuts down?

Who knows - it's out of control? Maybe Trump's chaos approach is the best option? Certainly business as usual has failed - has absolutely fked us.

Everybody I speak to loves what I'm doing with condemning the world to chaos bigger than literally anyone has ever seen. The numbers look great. No-one else can do numbers like this. No-one can believe how great this chaos is going to be. Gurgle.

So many weak governments in addition to Trump. State run companies extract over half the fossil fuels exported around the world. Just this week Norwegian state run Equinor announced they are not only going to drill more since they forecast oil prices to rise, but they are also halving investment in green renewables.

Things are going in reverse.

Indeed. No integrity anywhere.

I wish the governments of the world would just be honest and tell us they've given up.

Is this the article that says what we really need is more pollution to keep the sun out?
