That was a bit of a struggle first half wasn't it? His positioning was all over the place, and Son had him on toast. As soon as he was booked it was clear he'd get hooked at half time.

Really thought he'd be a decent addition for us, but he seems utterly lost in a league he used to be fine with.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

I'd like to agree but it honestly reminded me of watching Harry Clarke tbh - he was dreadful against Brentford..

Thought JD might have fared better than Godfrey did though

Johnson has struggled to get tight to his man when playing there but I think he'd have done better than Godfrey

I listened to the Brentford game on the wireless whilst painting a ceiling so can't comment on HCs performance. I just feel that he is a good enough footballer to be coached and hence we have wasted a place with bringing Godfrey on in a loan in that position.

Johnson has spells where he looks up to the challenge but any notion that we bought in a ready made top flight fullback have not been proven thus far. I hope he comes good and he might do. Confidence is a big influence on a lot of individual's performances this season.

He was left to play one on one against Son having barely played any first team football all season. Not sure tactically that was the best decision by McKenna.

For the first goal he started about 5 yards behind Son. The danger of signing someone who used to be good. Hadn’t played a game all season and it’s easy to see why.

He is best as a centre half , ask any Nodge fan and also Anceloti , I would have thought McKenna would have known that , strange call as his lack of match football lately speaks volumes.

Whilst I agree with the OP, in Godfreys defence, I'd say he's hardly played any football of note in a year. He was a very good player prior to his move yo the States, and he's not going to suddenly become a bad player. I do wonder if McKenna himself is still here next season, that we don't try and sign him permanently.

The states? You are aware his parent club is ATALANTA ie the Serie A club not Atlanta, the place in Georgia?...
