Everyone's "non-league" team 11:04 - Feb 24 with 2477 views | SaffronWaldenBlues | The Lowestoft and Bury threads have inspired me to ask, do you follow a non-league side, and who/why? I am from Saffron Walden, so support Saffron Walden non-league. I have watched them since I was a kid when I wasn't watching Town. Not too many Town connections, Stuart Vant (Dave Vant's dad) was the Chairman and is a big Ipswich supporter. Ipswich used to play a friendly here fairly regularly into the early 2000s but dropped off, we did have quite a few supporters in Saffron Walden and villages back in the day. Tommy Parkin played for both Ipswich and Saffron Walden.

Everyone's "non-league" team on 12:48 - Feb 24 by sjg | Started following Felixstowe this season as I have a couple of mates playing for them, one hopefully not for much longer as he has been linked with a couple of Football League moves recently Massively surprised at how good the standard is, while still having all of the bits which makes non league football so endearing - standing between the 2 dugouts has given me some funny stories even just from the last 6 months To be honest, now I have had my first taste of Town in the Prem and found out that it's not all I'd cracked it up to be in my head, I have seriously considered doing fewer Town games in order to spend more time watching Felixstowe |
I live quite near the ground so go along when Town games allow. Going really well this season, as you say, good standard, 500 for Boxing day game , beer during the game, walk round the pitch, really enjoy it.

FC Halifax Town , I used to live fairly close and a good friend supported them York City, as I live in York now. Went to York v FC Halifax on Saturday as it happens. Going to Chester v Needham Market on Saturday for fun.

Everyone's "non-league" team on 15:31 - Feb 24 by BlueBadger | AFC Sudbury, although they were Sudbury Town prior to the highly controversial amalgamation(some people round here still refuse to go and refer to it as a 'takeover') with Wanderers. |
You are correct and I'm one of them. Will never watch AFC Sudbury.

Yep, not sure if the football’s always as good as it has been this season but the Warrens are great to watch, like Josh Hitter a lot too. Not sure if you were there but the headloss from the Sporting Bengal manager the other week was probably the funniest thing I’ve seen at a football match
Everyone's "non-league" team on 19:56 - Feb 24 with 359 views | quirkie | Truro City, nearest team to me step 8 and above in the Pyramid, and my home city. Currently 5th in National League South with a couple of games in hand over the leaders Dorking. Owners have ambitions to get into the Football League proper in 5 years. New ground just outside the City after many years playing "home" games as far away as Gloucester!! Always hoping Truro go on a FA Cup run one season and draw Ipswich at home.
