Are they not real? It's very good animatronics if not, I was convinced they were real!

No, they are in the Matrix. None of it is 'real'.....

Oh well, at least Crufts is on and beer’s in the fridge on 09:06 - Mar 9 with 466 views | DJR | I enjoyed watching some of it on Friday night but can't say I am fussed by dogs with long hair or what looks like thick permed hair. Nor do I find appealing many of the toy dog breeds which don't seem to have enough "go" in them for my liking. The other thing I wonder about with some of the lesser known breeds (which I've never seen in real life) is just how many of them there are in the UK or even the world. And I don't suppose there is a mongrel category [Post edited 9 Mar 9:08]

Hair isn’t permed but natural - all dogs have to be shown and are judged by their breed standards. How those standards were arrived at is another matter, controversial in some cases like the flat nose breeds, but now subject to health and fitness tests. The amount of grooming required for some breeds is, I agree, ridiculous! Wouldn’t ever choose to have one of these. Also not a fan of tiny dogs, but each to their own. Some dogs are indeed on the vulnerable list - they had a show class of their own this year, won by an Irish Wolfhound. ‘Scrufts’ for cross-breeds runs alongside Crufts main show.
