Why is he so out of favour? He epitomises everything that was good about the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons and is nearly always a significant improvement on whoever he replaces when he finally get a 15 minute run out.

Think he was only 1.5 mill so can't be better than Clarke at 15m same applies Burgess and Greaves it seems.

I really like Broadhead so maybe I am biased but he always seem to show more quality than Clarke to me

This is as far as I can tell McKennas biggest weakness, his pride and stubbornness in persisting with playing players who are in bad form or are just actually not very good because of the money that was spent on them. Starting with Muric, then philogene, Hutchinson as a 10. What the hell was our formation about, not once has Hutchinson looked good as 10, not
Once as philogene looked good on the right, infact he’s barely looked good in any position, encisio on the left ? It was like watching England of old, players playing out
Of position just to get them in the starting 11. So many times we got into good positions to then fall foul because of the players getting in each others way or looking like they were lost - I can wait until he has a team that he knows and has to stick with - I know it’s not a lack of effort or trying, not even the players fault as can see what they are trying to do but don’t have the capability against better opponents.

Precisely. McK's stubbornness in sticking with the same old will be his downfall.

Muric is a very good example. It took McK all the way until summer to realise Muric was an incorrigible liability and luckily we managed to sign Palmer in Jan. In contrast, Sabri Lamouchi needed just 5 games to suss Muric out and tell he was trash and binned him back to City.
