An early Friday choon - because I'm old and I want to go to bed. on 15:36 - Mar 28 by Churchman
I bet that was really good. At school you were not allowed to like ABBA or even say the name. It just wasn’t cool. But I bet the majority did like them really. How could you not?
I've always liked them, still do. SOS is a bit heavy when you think about it. In fact, pretty sure some heavy metal lot covered it. I'll take a look right now.
This was the actual concert I went to at Wembley Arena.
On researching SOS covers I found that it had been covered 76 times by bands including Portishead and U2
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.
Another song about homecoming. I played this as the last song at the funerals of both my parents. It represented for me the spiritual homecoming of them as exiled Scots, and I would have it at my funeral.
I don't know if you can see The changes that have come over me In these last few days I've been afraid That I might drift away So I've been telling old stories, singing songs That make me think about where I came from And that's the reason why I seem So far away today
[Chorus] Oh, but let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia you're calling me And now I'm going home If I should become a stranger You know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had
