I wonder what difference the difficulty of the first few games made? 16:32 - Apr 6 with 528 views | Leutard | In hindsight, we never got the opportunity to snatch a win or two on the back of the morale from promotion, being slammed with Liverpool and Manchester City first. It's easy to make excuses, but a couple of early wins from easier fixtures might have made a world of difference.
I wonder what difference the difficulty of the first few games made? on 16:59 - Apr 6 with 430 views | ghostofescobar | Nah. We starting snatching points towards the end of the first half of the season. The problem has been the second half of the season, not the first couple of games back in August. We were very close in a lot of games in the first half, being denied by dodgy VAR, dodgy reffing and a few late goals against to deny up points. We looked competitive in most games. Second half we’ve been comparatively awful and have rarely looked competitive, taking some heavy defeats along the way. Teams have sussed us out, been physically too strong for us all over the pitch, tactically more aware, constantly targeting our weak points (in behind the full backs both sides - how many bloody goals have opponents got in behind our defence on the flanks, then pulled the ball across for an easy tap in), had much, much stronger subs, kept delap isolated, transitioned the ball through the thirds like lighting (whereas we often move it like it’s a Sunday stroll) and on and on and on. We just are not yet set up, from top to bottom, inside out, to be a Prem club, which is totally understandable looking at how Evans left the club to rot. But, we are heading in the right direction, throughout the club. We are a much stronger proposition in most departments, just not strong enough, yet. But we’ll get there.

If feels a long way off but we did actually have a patch of being unbeaten for four games with Muric in goal as well!
