The VAR intervention 16:05 - Apr 26 with 919 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Let's leave aside the fact that it is incredibly soft and not sufficient contact to bring him down (the current applicable test)... VAR seem to believe that it was possibly sufficient contact. So then they should look at where the contact starts, as that is the point of the possible foul. The initial contact was outside the box. The point of the foul was therefore not inside the area. Therefore it couldn't be a Penalty. Therefore VAR HQ shouldn't have intervened at all. It should have remained with the on field referee's original decision. A complete failure to apply the rules fairly and impartially.
The VAR intervention on 16:08 - Apr 26 with 844 views | MYLEFTFOOT | Awful decision. However if it carried on into the box and it's a foul, it's a penalty.
The VAR intervention on 16:08 - Apr 26 with 842 views | SimonBatfordITFC | That’s not correct at all though. Regardless of whether initial contact occurs outside, it is continues into the penalty area the referee is correct to award a penalty. It’s good use of advantage.

Yes, ok. Law 12 "If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick." Back to whether it was a holding foul, and if so, why there aren't 40 penalties a match.

When we do them we get pens given against us and cards. When other teams do them, we are told its not enough despite being far more significant. Happening all season.
