The absolute state of facebook.... 13:43 - May 14 with 659 viewsredrickstuhaart

I use it with FBPurity from my pc which is usually fine. Sorts it into actual date order and cuts out all the rubbish. Highly recommended.

Very occasionally i have cause to use fb from my phone on a browser. The utter shyte that is being channelled into peoples brains is terrifying. 3/4 of the posts are suggested or promoted. Amongst those there are some bad jokes and flaky inspirationsl quotes. However, there is also a huge volume of conspiracy nonsense, conservative christianity, blatant misdirection and dog whistling. Numerous posts tofay saying "hands up if youve realise you cant trust legacy media" a trumpist phrase designed to suppress the free press.

People are being heavily manipulated daily. No wonder they vote for lunatics. We are in serious trouble. Social media has waaaay too much power

it was quite eye opening how all the big tech just got in line as soon it was clear Trump was going to win. Obviously Musk got in early doors, but then Zuck and Bezos jumped on board and even Google made it's own realignment. Not a whimper of opposition from supposed liberal tech giants. Clearly they'll just go with wherever the wind is blowing without threatening their bottom line.

And if the next USA President is a Democrats those companies will all claim to be the epitome of liberalism and inclusiveness. They all have little or no moral fibre.

Yep much like in Pride month their 'Western' social accounts and webpages gleefully display supportive rainbows and platitudes whilst in other territories they are censoring LGB content.

I've noticed the same the past couple of months. Particularly prominent are antisemitic conspiracy theories, which were never on my feed before January. The sheer volume is quite scary, as is the content.

Microsoft pushed back at one point (I think against one of his ridiculous executive orders but I can’t remember exactly). The also cut ties with a legal firm who’d jumped into bed with Trump. So there’s been a few principles stuck to, but not many.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
