Non-League allocations sorted for next season... 12:42 - May 15 with 880 views | itfcjoe | https://www.thefa.com/news/2025/may/15/nls-allocations Step 3 Bury Town promoted into Southern Premier Central Needham Market relegated into Southern Premier Central They join Leiston and AFC Sudbury, so all 4 Suffolk teams now in this league All the Essex teams in Isthmian Premier - would have been interesting to see where Brightlingsea Regent went had they beat Bury Town in the PO Final Step 4 Brantham promoted into Isthmian North Lowestoft relegated into Isthmian North They join Felixstowe, Mildenhall and Newmarket there plus the North Essex teams Seems a bit of a pain to be in the Essex/London leagues at Step 4, but then the Midlands/Central leagues at Step 3 - must make player recruitment more difficult

Non-League allocations sorted for next season... on 13:00 - May 15 with 774 views | BseaBlue | We were led to believe that Regent would have been in the Isthmian Prem. I think when we calculated it previously (there was the threat of lateral movement a couple of seasons ago) it worked out at an average of 90 miles extra per away day for us going into the Southern Prem Central! I'm not sure we would have managed that to be honest, as a sustainably ran club.

It's crazy really and has become so difficult for Suffolk Clubs now, when they are at Step 4 they are in Essex/London league, then at Step 3 they move to the Central Midlands league, then at step 2 they go to NLN......just impossible to work with and no one will ever make it into Step 1 from here

Despite repeated attempts, the pyramid is a complete mess! I've seen some ideas about splitting League Two into North/South combining it with teams from the top end of the National League (Most of who are pro now anyway) and then filtering it down from there so its more regionalised. Problem is, the National League and EFL are two seperate bodies so wouldn't be straight forward. When we were at Step 3, it was pretty devastating losing the Suffolk sides to the Southern Central. As you can imagine, Leiston, Needham, Sudbury etc were always really good gates for us (As well as decent people) I've always felt that with a bit of shifting about, you could have a decent East Anglian League at Step 3/4.

Shame you can't have a Eastern counties league one and two. Plenty of good enough teams within a hundred mile radius and less. Make so much sense financially. Also getting time of work for players staff and supporters midweek. Bigger crowds v local rivals.
