Best players against us this season? 00:44 - May 17 with 682 viewsTractorFrog

Unless someone from Leicester or West Ham springs a surprise, what would be the strongest Premier League 11 we have seen this season so far?

GK - I think Andre Onana's performance at Portman Road was the best from an opposing goalkeeper this season, but his performance at Old Trafford was the worst, so I can't pick him. Dean Henderson was very good in both games against Crystal Palace. I don't think I have seen a better goalkeeping performance than Alex Palmer at Villa Park.

CB - This is quite a hard one because the best centre-backs are the ones you don't notice at all because they have just completely shut down your striker, as Luke Woolfenden sometimes did very effectively last season. Virgil Van Dijk did this particularly well to Liam Delap at Anfield, as did William Salilba at the Emirates. I would also have to include Dan Burn for that header at St James Park where he looked ridiculous towering over the defence to score.

RB - The only one that particularly stands out would be Trent Alexander-Arnold, with TownTV describing his cross for Liverpool's fourth as 'undefendable'. Axel Tuanzebe really impressed me as well with how he shut out Heung-Min Son at Tottenham.

LB - I don't remember many, but Antonee Robinson did well in both games for Fulham. Maybe I just knew to look for him.

CM - Newcastle's midfield was probably the overall strongest but I don't remember specifically which of Tonali, Guimaraes and Willock stood out, similarly with Rice, Odegaard and Merino for Arsenal, but that arguably is what makes the best midfield. Ryan Gravenberch was very good for Liverpool, and Adam Wharton for Crystal Palace. Mateo Kovacic scored that excellent goal for Man City. In the CAM position, it has to be Kevin De Bruyne who was instrumental in the 6-0 drubbing.

RW - Mo Salah was the best player we have faced this season in my opinion. After we were giving Liverpool a game for the first half back in August, he just stepped up a gear after halftime and was unplayable.

LW - Jeremy Doku totally ran the show when Man City dominated at Portman Road, he had Johnson and Godfrey marking him and still started every goal, it seemed. Heung-Min Son would be my second choice for how easily he got past Godfrey, while Marcus Rashford was terrifying when he came on for Aston Villa.

ST - It's got to be either Erling Haaland or Alexander Isak, who both scored 4 goals against us this season. I hope Chelsea fans doing this list are considering including Liam Delap because his performance at Portman Road against them was the best I have ever seen from an Ipswich player.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

We would have won the Villa game if not for GK Emilio Martinez in October.
Arsenals defence prevented everything we had in both games with solid efficiency.
Mo Salah of course wanted to turn it on.
Jacob Murphy and Isak did us over particularly nastily.
De Bruyne against us at Portman Road turned it on, and Foden too, 6 nil that was a hard day.
Haarlands hat trick in August was particularly efficient and ruthless.

But in reality we scored against all the top sides and gave most of them a game, just didn't shut them out enough.

Bournemouth CB at Portman Road, who I'd assumed was Huijsen but was actually Illia Zabarnyi. He picked Delap's pocket so often he wore a hole in it.

Also Brighton's Baleba steamrolled Morsy and Phillips in the first half at the Amex.
