It makes sense if you're a team that presses as well as PSG.

Gives you a chance to move men upfield, and deploy the press in the opposition's third, whilst they have a tricky set piece with which to try and break back out.

Probably the sort of scenario that's able to be drilled over and over again in training, with a view to making it very difficult for the opposition to get the ball to one of their own men.
