If we keep having seasons like this one and the one before, then fans will turn off and they'll struggle to keep fattening their bank balances. They can't just keep going like they are.

I find the PL boring, and even more so after our last season. It was enjoyable in the slightest.

They won't change whilst the rich keep getting richer. Never thought I'd say it but it would be best if the top 5 or 6 went off to their Euro super league.

At last viewing figures are starting to drop then. Who wants to pay premium prices and sit through all that advertising to watch a league with no title race, easy Champions' League qualification for the big teams, and no relegation battle?

With more and ever expanding competitions, I wonder if people will switch off from football altogether or at least focus on the more authentic leagues such the Championship and below.

No surprise when it's a better user experience to pirate it than to pay for it.

Spreading games across a load of services so if you wanted to catch all the games you'd have to spend a minimum of £50 a month (assuming you already have Sky) at a time when people are still feeling the pain from inflation and everything else.

Silly money.

£50/month + Sky - of course people are going to pirate streaming “on an industrial scale”- what did all those different companies expect? Scored own goals in their greed, so serve em right.

But that is why you add more to the list. Who shows the championship now?. Once you reach saturation point, then move to league one etc.

Ladies game will be next. If people are that desperate to watch something they will pay for it. And once they are hooked the price goes up. Then you decide how much is too much or is it FOMO.

Can you imagine paying to watch the last two England games. Would you consider cancelling your subscription if that was the quality of the programme. But we still carry on paying for poor quality.

Also highlights how we were spoilt with the fantastic L1/Championship seasons. Proper football and entertainment.

The problem is you have so many ordinary sides. Even the once great Man Utd can't get the best players and when a team like Newcastle get a decent player they have one season with that club and then what with agents and the biggest clubs sniffing around they are off.
It's a dog eat dog situation.
For clubs like Town it's even worse as Mark Ashton referred to where those established or even those who have gone up, come down and gone up again have a 40 million pound advantage.
I stopped several seasons ago having Sky Sports as there's only one or two games per month I wish to see. Loads of them are worse than watching paint dry. Little excitement with VAR ruining what is left.
Horse racing has been debating why the numbers are down for the Derby meeting at Epsom
. It's because of the rip off costs for everything from entry to having a pint or a burger.
Also the fare dished up and had three races with 45 minutes in between them.
If football ceases to be the game of the people it will go the same way.
Of course you cater for those that have deep pockets but that mustn't be done to the detriment of your regular fans.

There has been a lot of debate about skill dying out of the game and players being athletes now and judged on how much they run in a match etc as opposed to what they do with the ball.

It has been eye opening from our perspective just how physical and strong premier league teams are. It therefore isnt a suprise that matches are more boring and viewing figures dropped.

Someone on here made a great point about goal of the month! How often do you see worldies these days? Not much because shooting is seen as a waste of possession if it doesn't follow the Manager's strict instructions.

But surely that just takes one team / manager getting a good team together and deciding the opposite is true. Not a hoofball team, but a team that doesn't worry about losing possession and is still successful with it.

I guess some of the more counter-attacking teams come into that category

Sky show the Championship matches. It is usually possible to get a subscription for about £20 a month through Now TV. I expect Ipswich will be shown a lot next season, and it is interesting to watch other Championship matches which affect us too. At least we won't have to subscribe to three TV companies to watch, unlike the Premier League.

But will they keep getting richer if fewer people are interested?
