… to go and attack the Championship again, and gain the promotion we didn’t quite manage. SO many of those are the elite of their position at this level.
If we’d added them this summer, TWTD would be absolutely dead - we’d have all fainted in shock… or passed out from unbelievable arousal.
We might not be getting the juicy exclusives (yet!)… but WHAT A SQUAD we’ve built already!!!

I was just thinking back to the situation where we signed Morsy. I don't think he was first choice in Boro's starting lineup and we lured him down a division (thank you Paul Cook). So thinking of parallels is there a central midfielder or two, currently in a Premiership squad who can't get a regular start that we could lure down to the Championship ?
I also remembered Lewis Travis, went back to Blackburn. Some of their fans said we'd noticeably improved him. Just looked him up, played 38 last season, his future now seems uncertain. Couldn't he be a stop-gap fix to replace Luongo whilst in the Championship, familiar with the team & tactics, so we can spend more time dealing with finding another 2nd central midfielder ? |  | | |

I think its about where we are shopping, its quite a small lane, players that have PL attributes but prepared to join a Championship club, all be it one looking to go back up and also better than we already have.
That is not a broad market and its not like we need loads of bodies, its about quality and well targeted additions, I'd rather we took time to get that right |  |

No panicking yet, but we need to be active.
We are only 4 weeks from the first game of the season, and KMc has previously spoken about players who haven’t had pre seasons with us needing time to get up to speed.
We are strong in areas, weak in some, and unknown how people will perform in others.
We still look unbalanced, for example we have 4 from the left in Broadhead, Szmodics, Philogene and J.Clarke, and right now on what we have seen Philogene and J.Clarke are down the pecking order, and they are expensive assets to hold down the pecking order. |  | | |

I’m not panicking but I’m getting a little concerned.
The Championship is a long tough season and we will get injuries like we always do so strength in depth is going to be very important. Yes, we have a strong squad already but we are light in certain areas like ST and CM hence my concern.
I’m sure everyone at the club is working extremely hard but departures are outnumbering incomings and it feels like other clubs (like Brum and Derby) are doing deals and we should be a much more attractive option for players than them |  |
