Hello, potentially stupid question here.

Due to space in my living room and the position of radiators/doors etc, ideally the best place for my vinyl unit is unfortunately opposite the sun facing window.

It is an Ikea Kallax and I have fitted solid white/black Kallax doors on the unit, so my question is, is my collection at risk here - could the sunlight get through the doors and cause fading to the sleeves/damage?

Thank you!

The sunlight won't get throught the doors. More important to keep them upright so they don't warp and , obviously , a nice median teperature.

The spines of mine are in West facing position and don't suffer from colour loss but they are packed quite tightly as I've lost vinyl before to it not standing pretty much vertical.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Thanks. They’re about the only thing of importance I own (have about 600). They’re all upright, in sealable protective sleeves and there’s silica packets in the cupboards, which have back ventilation. So I am a little obsessive.

If you're really obsessive, they'll be in alphabetical order (or some other system), so you can have them with the opening side rather than the spines on the outside (which also puts the front covers on the left hand side enabling you to flip through them from left to right)

I’ve taken a few of mine to Record Bakers!
Occasionally the odd tune through the post has been damaged in transit, warped and un-playable!
Dad’s solution was 70 degrees in the oven for 20 minutes between 2 baking sheets with a large le creuset pan on top. It actually worked, but please don’t hold me responsible for any miss-haps ;-)
Tip. I kept them in the paper sleeve!

They are indeed alphabetised!
