Tyreece Simpson on 12:00 - Jul 19 by Radlett_blue | Maybe some of these players aren't really going to make it because they're not good enough so taking the better deal makes sense? As others have said, no one can see into the future. |
it is a shame for him, from the small game time we saw of him you could see his inexperience, often poor positional awareness, rawness and also his potential with his speed and strength and explosiveness. If his agent had any nous he would have kept him Ipswich or another club that could develop him, not a ex prem team looking for immediate results. Agent has blown his investment for short term gain.

The probability is we would have released him on a free at a later date. Everyone is seeing this as a missed opportunity for him, but he still had plenty of chances when he left us. He isn't good enough. Mckenna can't turn everyone into a better footballer.. Look at Ahadme and, most likely, AAH. We did good business and, at least, he got a few quid extra for a few seasons. Plenty more hard luck stories where young kids get released with nothing. [Post edited 19 Jul 15:23]

Hear hear, and I'm not sure hindsight even confirms it was a bad move. Arguably he left at the peak of his value, thereby earning the best contract he'll ever receive. Don't want to set a ceiling on anyone but there isn't much evidence yet that he'll return to Championship level, let alone go beyond it. Would he have become a Championship regular under our supervision or would he have been one of the many that we've let go over the past few years?
