Herein lies the problem - to get in someone happy to accept they are third in line for a one man position, and for them to be a better prospect than AAH! Tough to do.
Regardless, it's getting the clear 2nd choice / Hirst competition in that matters most, then we can relax a little about who is or isn't number 3.
Just to throw it out there based only on the Aberdeen game as I’ve not seen the rest…I thought we looked quite a lot more 4-4-2 with Szmodics and Hirst playing pretty close to each other in the first 60 mins. I wonder if it’s a bit more up for debate whether it’s 1 or 2 forward positions available in the team now?
He took his goal very well, but he looks so far off the standard of the rest of the team in general play - the ball doesn't stick with him at all and is such a big downgrade from Hirst.
