I totally understand him wanting to be a PL player and I equally understand the pull of playing for your boyhood team. However I can't quite work out what he is waiting for?
The market has been open for two months, we have had a bid accepted and still no PL offers forthcoming?
Surely as soon as that bid is in (been public knowledge for at least a week re an official bid/ approach) your agent would be out to every interested PL club with what is essentially an ultimatum. Yet still nothing ....

Sounds plausible. No doubt his agent has spoken to clubs, there's probably 1 or 2 trying to keep him warm while they're either trying to get someone out or waiting to see what progresses they can make on a preferred option, with HH being plan B.
I reckon if there's no movement this week he'll head down here and sign over the weekend. |  | | |

Some clubs won't buy until they're sure they have space (ie they need to sell a player first)
There is also the possibility a PL club isnt sure he'll be a starter in the PL, and maybe looking at him to be loaned out for the season. If that is the case they may still be in waiting mode and assessing how much they need to spend on the 'starters' and see how much they have left over to buy a player like him for the future, without breaking financial rules. |  | | |

Maybe it isn't really him "awaiting" at all and transfers just take time - there are lots of moving pieces and in the interim journos have to write something and people like to act like they know something. | | | |
