A lot of his attributes fit us well. I think he'll play as a main striker and challenge Hirst as that is where he can be most effective, though he can drop deeper if needs be. Consistent finisher: very good return, especially at this level, I'd say he's a good natural finisher Physical and technical blend: I love that he combines strength and intelligent movement to create space, solid hold-up play, and sharp finishing both on the run and off the shoulder of defenders, this is where he really fits us Work ethic: Praised for attitude and professionalism, especially during limited game time at Ajax I think his finishing and physical presence suit a team relying on high pressing, transition pace, and service from wide areas or set-pieces, this is us in a nutshell. Potential concerns lie in the fact that more recently he's not been as effective at Ajax or Lille, though his time with Ajax is well thought of by most, not a starter though with them, generally. Whilst having the ability to play deeper or wider - he's not the most creative, hence why I think that he's actually play as a striker for us but we'll see. EDIT: appreciate his time at Boro was spent wider (though not always) A lot of experience and at 29/30 - still very much in his prime. I posted earlier today that I think the reason this is late in the day is that he was hoping for a Prem move that hasn't materialised and accepted a move home meant Champ football. I don't see this as a panic buy at all. A real quality player for me. I also think this is the reality of Hackney as well, as much as he may want Prem football, the window is closing, as it has for Akpom. [Post edited 4 Aug 18:11]
