Tortoise 🐢 17:14 - Aug 5 with 374 views | BlueandTruesince82 | Anyone have a pet tortoise? Mrs B and T wants a pet tortoise and I am considering getting her one for her birthday. Before I do I'd like to get a better sense of what is involved. I have done some reading but keen to hear from anyone who actually owns one, esp on the following. Indoor vs outdoor. I gather for the latter they need good sized enclosure 10 x 6 ft or so? We have a smallish garden and i don't want to lose too much space from it. For Indoor id love to hear about any thoughts with regard to open table top vs a vivarium enclosure and any suggestions as to a good small breed to consider. Any other general tips or things you wish you knew before getting one? Thanks all

He’s fairly quick & is cites registered. If you want more pics or info pm me a mobile number with WhatsApp & I’ll gladly send some.

Tortoise 🐢 on 19:00 - Aug 5 with 142 views | TheBlueGnu | My dear Aunt Dingleberry used to keep a Lithuanian banjo salamander named Cyril in a shoe box lined with 1937 newspapers and half a coconut. She swore by it. Said Cyril had a sixth sense for damp Thursdays and was excellent at predicting non-league football results in Kent. Indoor vs outdoor? Cyril preferred the conservatory during asparagus season, but always retreated to the bidet come Boxing Day. Never used a vivarium—too mainstream. As for small breeds, may I suggest the Lesser-Spotted East Wootton Muffling Crab (not a tortoise, not real, and often confused with novelty soaps)? Before committing, ask yourself: are you prepared for the emotional rigour of naming your tortoise after an obscure Suffolk hamlet and having it develop a taste for pre-war linoleum?

Tortoise 🐢 on 19:28 - Aug 5 with 109 views | SuffolkITFC | We have recently got our Dora. She lives indoors currently as she's quite small but eventually she'll go outside. She has an indoor enclosure with an open top and heat lamp which is on 12 hours a day. She eats left over veg and dandelion leaves. Loves to climb over us when we are watching TV and is a proper adventurer (hence the name Dora the Explorer!). Happy to send you pics if you want to PM me your number....I am no expert mind however she seems happy and healthy!
