With the way we play, I just think we get so much more out of Broady than either Clarke or Philogene.
With the high press we have two in midfield. The other two don’t track back to help out anywhere near as much as Broady so any team that breaks the press over-run our midfield easily.

Plus Broady doesn’t try to occupy that wide space where Leif usually goes, he wants to be more central and link up.

Great little player.

I think we're playing Clarke wrongly. At Sunderland, he was a strict left touchline winger. On Friday he kept cutting in to try and be available for the ball.

I personally wouldn't have bought him but can understand why he would be seen as a good foil for Leif. The main issue is that when Leif goes gung-ho in attack, we're short at LB and someone else has to cover. Broady was good at understanding that.

I think we’ll sell him eventually, we almost moved him on last season too -

But with no Philogene or Omari (or Omari replacement), and Ogbene and Akpom not up to speed, we need him and his qualities for a big game this weekend.

Can't say I ever remember Broadhead "filling in" at left back. It was Mas that used to slot in to the space left by Leif when he made a foray forward. This was one of our issues last year as Mas was moved out of the team for Cajuste/Philips, neither of them seemed to naturally move in to that space as Mas did, which constantly left us exposed down that flank.

Agreed. Broadheads never been much use defensively.
Its not his game.
In attack and creating terrific.
That being said if Jaden's fit he's 100% your man on the left. Shown his quality in pre season.
He will be outstanding this season.

Poll: Apologies I'm bored. How many signings will we have by Plymouth at home.

I think this is why Clarke looked better on the right through pre-season. Johnson and Young weren't getting as far forward and encroaching on the area where he likes to play.

Agreed.
Leif has been such a massive part of our attack but Clarke’s natural game is to be out there with whitewash on his boots filling the same space.

In pre-season it looked like Leif came inside a bit when Clarke was on the left, or Clarke switched to the right.

McKenna is desperately trying to find a system for Clarke, but on Fridays showing he’s still very lightweight whatever the role.

Can’t imagine Philogene is 100%, or I’d agree.

I very much doubt he's ready yet. Sky mentioned he would be missing for a few weeks on Friday.

I think Philogene will be much better working on the left with Davis, he definitely has more in his locker defensively than anyone other than perhaps Sammy playing wide left. I think he probably shades it with Sammy too, but Sammy does like to get stuck in more.

I fear the last thing the management team wants to do is start him and demonstrate how indispensable he is to us…..although the fact they haven’t let him go yet more or less tells us the same thing.

That’s my point though, all that goes out the window given the form / fitness of the others.

I was really surprised Ogbene started on Friday.

Not sure any of that makes any sense to me!

Starting him would sure prove a point to Wrexham that he is a valuable member of the squad, and prove that they need to pay decent money if they really want him.

I suspect the fact that we still haven't allowed him to move on is due to the fact we are rather bare-bones at the moment. We can't currently afford to let one of the 3 behind the striker move on without having a replacement in beforehand.
