I'm kind of ignoring our performance on Friday. Having an evening match as the season opener is just daft, and I dont think its a good barometer of where a team is at.
For me Southampton v Wrexham seemed like the 'proper' season opener.
I think the EFL should ditch the idea of having the first match on a Friday night. |  |

Sheff United is one I'm looking forward to. Post deadline day, settled squad, post 2 week break. Another month for McKenna to work with the new recruits, Friday night under the lights.

I know it the way of the world now with TV deals etc but for me, it waters down that immersion of the start of the season when by the time the first Saturday of the season rolls around, we've already played, or indeed waiting for the Sunday. |  |
