Harry Potter.... 13:29 - Aug 12 with 1797 views | itfcjoe | ...my eldest has got really into it lately and about half way through the last book. It's his birthday in October so looking at some things around HP - any recommendations for things that aren't the stage show and the studio tour. - i.e. anything obvious me and my wife aren't aware of as muggles.... Also if anyone has seen stage show, or been to studio and has bad reviews be happy to hear as assuming that is what we end up doing so need to manage expectations!

Harry Potter.... on 15:10 - Aug 12 with 245 views | KingsCrossBlue | I managed to avoid all Harry Potter books and films for years, passing it off as a story about a young Paul Daniels. However, was cajoled in to booking the tour for my 9 year old daughter's birthday. A week before, my wife made me watch every film on double speed, and slowing down for the important bits. Have to say, the tour is incredible, but book tickets for as early entry as you can - as it’s a full day out. The staff and food / drink quality is exceptional
Harry Potter.... on 15:12 - Aug 12 with 237 views | acj | We took my mum to see the stage show a couple of years back and it was good fun - as others have mentioned it is quite a long day as they do it in two parts and you have a break in the middle to go and get dinner. Or you could dip into the millions flowing in from top tier BM subscriptions and take the family over to Universal in Orlando!

Harry Potter.... on 15:47 - Aug 12 with 166 views | BlueJudge | Studio Tour with a school is slightly different to normal experience. As a family we have done half term breaks to Scotland for Glenfinnan Viaduct - train stuff - Dumbledores ‘grave’ - a small island in a loch, coming back via Alnwick castle staying at a HP themed hotel in Alnwick! Also, have done west wales - staying at Tenby - for Dobbie’s grave! Done stage show twice. My wife and 2 girls are big fans. I am just a facilitator of happiness! Really enjoyed the Scotland trip staying at Fort William as lots else to besides damn Potter stuff! Also did Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island as part of the trip which was great. Wales surprised me too! Harry Potter locations were the reason to go to both, but so much more besides to do as a family.
Harry Potter.... on 16:34 - Aug 12 with 117 views | Steve_M | Re: the play, my partner’s son went to see it so last year aged 8. He really wanted to see it and was prepared for a long night. He loved it though. He was equally fascinated by the walk from the theatre to Leicester Square tube, totally eye-opening for a kid at that time of day.

Harry Potter.... on 16:53 - Aug 12 with 90 views | MattinLondon | Regarding the studio tour my youngest was six when he went and loved it. Arrived at 10.00 and left at 17.00. A long and exhausting day. You don’t particularly want to rush anything. As someone who isn’t that bothered about HP I thought that it would be one of those days where as a parent you simply have to suck it up and smile at the right places. But it was amazing - when you enter the school hall it’s one of those OMG moments - magical. I would recommend booking now as it gets booked up months in advance - and it’s far better for your youngster when he loves it rather than just likes it. If his birthday is in October, it could well coincide with the Halloween theme there which could be a tad scary. I will say that the tour is more concerned with the sets and special effects than the actual story of HP. I would recommend bringing sandwiches as the food there isn’t great at all but they do serve butter beer which tastes like liquified shortbread. The gift shop has so many wands etc in it, it’s unbelievable. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on there as well. I would recommend booking ‘premium parking’ (or whatever it’s called) as the car park is huge.
