I'm seeing more support for their club from Wednesday fans 12:30 - Aug 13 with 475 viewsBobbychase

Than some of ours.

Criticism is fine after last night but Ye Gods. The bedwetting on Twitter is sensational. My personal favourites;

"Ashton needs to pull his finger out". Indeed, our notoriously lazy CEO has done nothing in the past week apart from get a Serie A player to join on loan and get the Akpom deal over the line.

"We haven't got any strikers". Only Hirst and Akpom plus a Championship Golden Boot winner in the form of Sammy S.

"McKenna under pressure". After one league game, possibly one of the toughest away games of this season. Yep, sure.

"Club is a mess". Morecambe fans may disagree

Sheff Wed? Really?

They have had flyovers saying “Chansiri out”, protests outside the ground almost on a weekly basis, hurled tennis balls on the pitch etc.

Even in the darkest days of the Evans era did the ITFC fan base do anything besides BA’s action at Playford Road. We must have one of the most easily contented, apathetic, placid fan base in the country

Even their legendary Barry Bannan wasn’t clapped off the pitch to relegation like we did with fist pump Chambo

Plus the reasons for their unhappiness (ownership, long term mostly) are completely different to our own (transfer market issues, short term mostly).

I was referring to their support of their team at the weekend despite all the troubles hanging over them. Really got behind them at Leicester despite the initial protest.
Whereas I keep reading a squad with Chaplin, Hirst, Szmodics and Akpom is short of strikers and Ashton is letting McKenna down. Would be nice if people waited until the window closed before judging how we did.

Valid concerns:
Ali cannot be our third striker at this level, agreed. Needs to go and be replaced.
Omari has made things awkward for us by refusing to play, and that situation needs dealing with without the club folding. We need to be strong on this but also resolve it quickly.
Players (Kipre, Azor etc) adjusting to the pace of the Championship, may take a few games.
Another central midfielder needed in before the window closes.

Those are all valid, all the other stuff about the owners refusing to spend money, McKenna somehow being out of his depth and Ashton doing nothing all summer is hysterical overreaction in my view.

He was clapped off the pitch on Sunday after getting sent off and costing his team the game.
